Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • Authorized to work in the US without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Zero (0) years or more of industry experience required
  • Physically capable of performing essential field tasks, including wearing required PPE, working in various environmental conditions, and safely navigating refinery structures such as ladders, stairs, and confined spaces
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Mechanical or Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Preferred: Two (2) years or more of industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Applies project management skills across all phases: development, justification, design, construction, and startup
  • Manages multiple projects/programs safely, efficiently, and within budget; develops strategies to meet schedules and mitigate delays
  • Ensures compliance with Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Information (PSI), and mechanical integrity documentation
  • Coordinates with external engineering consultants and designers to complete projects and studies cost-effectively
  • Develops scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital and expense projects; prepares Decision Support Packages (DSPs) and presents to leadership
  • Collaborates with stakeholders including Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support planning and execution
  • Coordinates with external consultants and internal teams to support execution
  • Participates in HAZOP reviews and incident investigations; applies safety and environmental standards to designs
  • Applies engineering codes and specifications; ensures designs meet safety, environmental, and permitting standards
  • Promotes safety awareness and takes corrective action when unsafe practices or conditions are observed
  • Develops Construction Work Packages and supports construction and commissioning of assigned projects through field walks, responding to RFIs, and approving installations before turning over to operations
  • Provides documentation and supports Operations and Maintenance departments to develop manuals, operating and maintenance procedures, and equipment training
  • Collaborates with project controls group for project scheduling, estimating, cost management, and forecasting
