Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project cost analysis and controls for team activities supporting Project Managers (PMs) and other staff
  • Oversee cost reporting for multiple projects and monitor project budgets under some supervision
  • Input budgets into AEP corporate systems, provide ongoing forecast updates, and perform variance analysis at program and project levels
  • Input and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as scope, budgeting, schedule performance, cost performance, and forecasting
  • Create work orders and coordinate with external contractors and vendors to integrate them into project budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate project meetings and work with project team members on activities
  • Support PMs in preparing and updating project documentation and planning
  • Assist with forecasts of project spending and cash flows, budget variance monitoring, and cost tracking/analysis
  • Provide analysis and verification for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) activities, and input to annual budgets, capital forecasts, five-year plans, and improvement requisitions
  • Perform estimate vs. actuals analysis
  • Collaborate with PMs and stakeholders for variance reporting and establishing time-phased baseline budgets
  • Create project breakdown structures
  • Perform departmental organizational functions, including tracking/analyzing/verifying unvouchered liabilities (UVLs), maintaining project records, and coordinating work order processes from creation to closing
  • Assist in contracting processes, including bidding, cost analysis, and tracking
  • Communicate with project teams, resources, and stakeholders on budgetary items
  • Apply problem-solving skills to technical problems
  • Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
  • Recommend improvements for role, project performance, AEP performance, service/product delivery, and environmental/community stewardship
  • Adhere to AEP Project Management Governance Committee standards
