Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, retain, and counsel team members on personal/professional issues; educate on benefits, compensation, and company policies
  • Guide team in stretches before shifts and rotate workstations throughout the shift
  • Promote safety daily and through monthly safety meetings
  • Perform day-to-day sanitation of equipment and facility or production management as needed
  • Appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
  • Develop and document cleaning procedures (e.g., SSOPs, cleaning logs)
  • Train and document sanitation workers for safe operation and disassembly of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules and standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Ensure food safety and quality control specifications are met
  • Ensure compliance with all company GMPs
  • Help develop, maintain, and comply with Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Systematically develop clear and well-defined cleaning procedures for all equipment and facility areas
  • Work closely with management and chemical suppliers on chemical and process changes to improve sanitation results and reduce costs
  • Protect product during sanitation
  • Supervise, motivate, and train sanitation production workers
  • Coordinate sanitation and production items for the plant
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance on sanitation issues concerning production, new products, special runs, etc
  • Coordinate with Maintenance on setup of packaging equipment
  • Check daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders, accurate shipments, record keeping, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products
  • Ensure all workstations on your line are staffed before start-up of production
  • Ensure all machinery is performing and all workstations have passed USDA inspection
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible
