Requirements

  • Technical four-year degree
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives including Lean
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills
  • Demonstrated team building talent and hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Ability to achieve results individually and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and coaching to production supervisors and employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals and objectives
  • Partnering with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure that finished product meet all customer requirements through continuous improvement and utilization of the plant quality management system
  • Partnering with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost
  • Providing leadership and support to the overall reliability strategy including the involvement of production employees in TPM
  • Partnering with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to assure that the manufacturing schedule is optimized and makes adjustments as necessary to provide required levels of service to our customers in the most cost effective manner
  • Providing the leadership to maintain a highly engaged workforce; partners with HR in areas of performance management, employee involvement, organizational change, staffing and employee development
  • Providing leadership to drive continuous improvement through the application of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Kaizen events working directly with the production and maintenance teams
  • Assuring employee training (quality, safety, process, etc.) is effective and completed
  • Mentoring immediate direct reports and establishes an effective team that is accountable and capable to achieve all performance goals
  • Assuring plant housekeeping meets company standards and implements and maintains a 5S program to sustain improvements
