Responsibilities

  • Assemble components into medical devices in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures, including miniature components under a microscope
  • Perform in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product
  • Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and custom fixtures/tools/assembly aids
  • Work with engineers and technicians to resolve process issues and suggest improvements daily and ongoing
  • Maintain accurate and timely records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, labor, and special projects
  • Strictly adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and FDA regulations
  • Train other assemblers on a wide range of tasks
  • Perform solder touch-up or solder parts as a secondary operation
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and rework parts to incorporate engineering changes
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble, test units, and correct malfunctions as required
  • Assemble and install various electrical or electronic components per blueprints, diagrams, verbal instructions, or established practices
  • Use specialized hand tools including solder irons, wire strippers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
  • Handle small, delicate parts with high accuracy for routine tasks in preparation for assembly
  • Follow method sheets to ensure documented and controlled processes for assembling electronic components
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production
