  • Procurement: Expertise in buying and procurement; ability to align with organizational strategies and practices, and utilize tools for acquiring goods, supplies, equipment, and services essential for business operations
  • Supplier Management: Understanding of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; capability to apply relevant experience and skills in practice
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring optimal use of technical and administrative resources to achieve objectives
  • New Product Development (NPD): Familiarity with methodology, processes, and strategies for new product development; ability to design and implement an NPD strategy that generates a range of products, services, and value propositions aligned with the organization’s overall marketing and business goals
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
  • Teamwork: Knowledge of the effective dynamics of team interaction

Responsibilities

  • Execute the planning, coordinating, governing and reporting procurement’s participation in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Provide leadership for the NPI activities within procurement, including select sources taken from the category strategies and resource management decisions
  • Monitor and report NPI progress, holding NPI & design teams accountable for meeting quality and timeliness of requirements, and assist the product group in managing procurement related capital
  • Work closely with operations and product development in creating a supply chain for a new product
  • Research and assess existing and potential suppliers; making recommendations on supplier selection
  • Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities
