Requirements

Procurement: Expertise in buying and procurement; ability to align with organizational strategies and practices, and utilize tools for acquiring goods, supplies, equipment, and services essential for business operations
Supplier Management: Understanding of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; capability to apply relevant experience and skills in practice
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring optimal use of technical and administrative resources to achieve objectives
New Product Development (NPD): Familiarity with methodology, processes, and strategies for new product development; ability to design and implement an NPD strategy that generates a range of products, services, and value propositions aligned with the organization’s overall marketing and business goals
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
Teamwork: Knowledge of the effective dynamics of team interaction

Responsibilities

Execute the planning, coordinating, governing and reporting procurement’s participation in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
Provide leadership for the NPI activities within procurement, including select sources taken from the category strategies and resource management decisions
Monitor and report NPI progress, holding NPI & design teams accountable for meeting quality and timeliness of requirements, and assist the product group in managing procurement related capital
Work closely with operations and product development in creating a supply chain for a new product
Research and assess existing and potential suppliers; making recommendations on supplier selection
Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities
