Requirements

  • 8+ years designing, rapid prototyping, and shipping high-craft software iOS or desktop products from 0→1
  • Strong visual craft and systems thinking, with deep care for clarity, cohesion, and details that make experiences feel effortless
  • Experience working in rigorous design environments with tools like Figma, Linear, and Notion, and excitement to prototype with LLMs and shape new AI-powered experiences
  • Sharp eye for clarity and craft, with a bias for fast, creative experimentation and learning through iteration
  • Clear communicator and structured thinker who can articulate the “why” behind design decisions, ground choices in user insights, embrace open dialogue, and help teams align around shared goals
  • Based in North American time zones with 4+ hours of overlap with Eastern Time Zone team members

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for Dia by crafting flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that define how AI-first software should behave
  • Explore novel concepts through prototyping and explorative design work, sharing work early and often while articulating objectives and ideas clearly
  • Partner with Engineers and Design Engineers to bring designs from concept to completion, and collaborate with Product, Insights, and other teams to inform product decisions and their impact
  • Shape Dia’s cross-platform design strategy, starting with macOS and expanding to Windows and mobile, to create cohesive, intuitive experiences across every surface
  • Contribute to team-wide design conversations by helping refine strategy, critique practices, participate in daily design drops, and establish shared norms to raise quality and craft
