Requirements

Experience leading design systems teams, overseeing development and evolution of design systems
Ability to partner with Product, Engineering, and Brand leads to shape vision, strategy, and roadmap
Expertise in defining design quality standards, ensuring high craft, cohesion, and accessibility
Skills in advocating for adoption, leading design reviews, critiques, and ideation sessions

Responsibilities

Oversee the development and evolution of Etsy's design system
Partner with Product and Engineering leads to shape vision, strategy, and roadmap for the design system
Collaborate with the brand team to translate brand voice into actionable tools and guidance
Define strategy for adoption across Etsy surfaces, working with initiative and squad leads
Uphold high bar for quality, craft, and rigor on the design systems team
Champion and define Etsy's design quality standards across the organization
Ensure effective utilization of the design system, advocating for customers and guiding teams to on-brand experiences
Lead design reviews, critiques, and ideation sessions for consistent, well-documented components and patterns
Foster culture of design excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Advocate for user-centered design methodologies and accessibility best practices
Represent design in executive-level discussions, articulating value and impact
Establish and refine processes/workflows to enhance cross-functional collaboration and design efficiency
Empower designers through documentation for consistent ways of working
Build and nurture a team of exceptional designers
