Requirements

Undertaking a degree in Product Design, Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or similar
Passionate about product design
Some exposure to a CAD program (ideally SolidWorks or Creo) and/or 3D printing/laser cutting
Ability to identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions either autonomously or as part of a team
“Hands-on” experience building prototypes or experimental testing in a workshop or science context
Some experience with developer kits such as Python, Arduino, Raspberry Pi (desirable)
Flexible and collaborative
Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature
Recent graduates welcome

Responsibilities

Help originate novel concepts and technologies for next generation products
Work with the wider team to define elegant, but robust solutions to satisfy product functional requirements
Collaborate on design studies (with the wider team) to solve technical or consumer issues in product development
Take direction on designs through conception, CAD execution, prototyping and verification, whilst working at pace
Evaluate and improve designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and value to consumers
Build an understanding and experience of high-volume manufacturing design constraints
