Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation to and from work (remote location, not accessible by bus)
  • Knowledge of automotive components is an asset
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting and pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  • Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust, odors, fumes, and noise
  • Organized and able to prioritize competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills – communicates clearly and concisely, verbally, over mobile radio devices, and in writing
  • Polite and friendly with a customer service orientation as well as a strong work ethic – uses time efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle processing
  • Draining appropriate automobile fluids (gasoline, antifreeze, etc.)
  • Removing non-ferrous material
  • Removing catalytic converter from vehicles as needed
  • Notifying appropriate personnel of any procedural abnormalities
  • Keeping the work area clean
  • Observing and following all safety rules and regulations
  • Removing tires and rims from vehicles
