Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime in a 24/7/365 production facility
  • Ability to operate a forklift and yard tractor to move materials
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch/handle/feel, reach/push/pull/climb, talk/hear; occasionally stoop/kneel/crouch; lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, 55 pounds occasionally; wear a respirator
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
  • Willingness to work outside with exposure to elements and in moderate noise environment requiring PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, FRC, hard hat, safety shoes)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate all process equipment (reactors, storage tanks, boilers, oil heaters, cooling water systems, wastewater treatment, utility systems) under direction of a plant operator
  • Operate forklift and yard tractor to move materials within the plant
  • Follow all EHS requirements/regulations; participate in safety, environmental, and production programs; recognize/resolve/report/control hazards; write Safe Work Permits; complete training on time; maintain clean/orderly work environment and contribute to housekeeping/5S
  • Learn quickly, be detail-oriented, follow operating/batch procedures; read/clarify directions; record/account for materials; maintain high quality standards
  • Demonstrate process awareness; operate process control equipment, pumps, motors, reactors, tanks, oil heaters, boilers; document/monitor/log conditions; create maintenance requests; troubleshoot basic problems and take corrective action; track/log materials in batch documentation; operate using Distributive Control System (DCS)
  • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence; review areas for improvements; initiate/communicate ideas; participate on project teams; assist in training others
