Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification, and between seven to fifteen years of related experience. They should have experience with process engineering knowledge and application to water and wastewater treatment facilities, including experience with combined sewer overflow, collection systems, pump stations, stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic models, and Biowin, GPS-X, and other process models. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with others are also required.
The Process Engineer will provide technical planning, biological process and mechanical design, and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects. They will prepare engineering calculations, run process models, support analysis of alternatives, utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda, prepare design reports and construction plans, assist with specifications and permit submittals, and prepare project status reports. The role also includes monitoring task budgets and progress, documenting design changes and communications, conducting on-site inspections, assisting with start-up, preparing proposals, attending meetings, maintaining client relations, ensuring a safe working environment, participating in professional organizations, publishing papers, and serving as a member of a committee.
