Requirements

  • Strong engineering leadership with deep hands-on technical expertise in embedded Linux appliances (Debian-based), Docker containers, and HashiCorp Nomad orchestration
  • Experience designing for edge constraints, including limited CPU/memory resources, reduced operating footprints, low-overhead/low-cost orchestration, and secure remote updates/lifecycle management
  • Expertise in OS services, security hardening, container runtime behavior, and system-level networking
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, observability, system performance best practices, appliance provisioning, upgrades, telemetry, diagnostics, and recovery
  • Proven ability to lead incident response, root-cause analysis for issues involving Linux internals, networking, containers, and orchestration
  • Experience building monitoring, alerting, and analytics for remote or low-bandwidth environments
  • Skills in secure secrets management, hardened OS images, and enterprise compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team building and operating the Service Point platform
  • Coach engineers in technical problem solving, system design, and career growth
  • Partner with product and platform leadership to define roadmaps, set priorities, and ensure successful delivery
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, ownership, engineering discipline, and continuous improvement
  • Own technical designs for the Service Point embedded Linux appliance running Docker container workloads orchestrated via Nomad
  • Guide the evolution of OS services, security hardening, container runtime behavior, and system-level networking
  • Establish robust strategies for appliance provisioning, upgrades, telemetry, diagnostics, and recovery
  • Drive best practices in CI/CD, automation, observability, and system performance
  • Oversee reliable operation of Service Point across globally distributed, edge-based deployments
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and analytics suited for remote or low-bandwidth environments
  • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for complex issues spanning Linux internals, networking, containers, and orchestration
  • Partner with security teams to ensure hardened OS images, secure secrets management, and compliance with enterprise expectations
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud Platform and Product teams to ensure smooth integration of Service Point capabilities
  • Communicate platform vision, technical decisions, constraints, and trade-offs across the organization
  • Represent Service Point
