Salary

$148,949-$233,600 per year.

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the principal designer for major software systems and their subsystems.
• Develop software application programs and analyze systems.
• Define requirements and design projects.
• Determine the most effective computer utilization to solve business problems and address business needs.
• Lead project planning, management status reporting, and implementation.
• Work at the highest technical level of all phases of system design and implementation, applying knowledge of applications program development technological alternatives.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 10 years of progressively responsible experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation.

Experience must include a minimum of:

• 8 years of experience in software development for financial services software applications using JAVA, J2EE, JAX-WS, JMS, JSON, XML, Maven, Gradle, Kafka, Solace/MQ, MSSQL/Oracle, REST Webservice, Spring, and Spring Boot framework.
• 5 years of experience with writing unit test cases for testing the business logic.
• 5 years of experience designing and developing database tables, views, and stored procedures.
• 5 years of application developing and architecting microservices to be deployed in Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
• 2 years of experience building applications on Azure Cloud platform.
