Requirements

Baccalaureate degree AND minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
Demonstrated experience resolving complex quality issues with suppliers (nice to have)
Ability to lead cross-functional teams of internal and external stakeholders for problem solving and corrective actions (nice to have)
Experience with injection molding, electronics, and printed circuit boards (nice to have)
Experience in Quality, including root cause analysis, CAPA ownership, audit support, and creating quality records (nice to have)
Experience with Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) (nice to have)

Responsibilities

Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services
Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness
Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur
Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met
Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation
Collaborates with Component Engineers to develop and deliver the Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products
Defines Receiving Inspection requirements as required and associated test method validation for all internal Medtronic Test Methods
Leads projects at suppliers and at Medtronic to improve manufacturing yields, reduce costs, and lead initiatives to drive results as measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Collaborates cross-functionally with Design Engineers, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams within Medtronic, as well as with external suppliers
Mentors rising engineers on the team
