Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Medical Physics or Engineering (PhD preferred) with didactic training in RPT biodistribution, kinetics and dose modelling
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in molecular imaging and RPT dose modelling research, or 3 years of extensive RPT-specific publications (10+)
  • Experience with radiopharmaceuticals as therapeutics in oncology and experience with alpha-emitters strongly desired
  • Subject Matter Expert in mathematical pharmacokinetic modeling and its application in radiopharmaceutical research and development
  • Technical skills with dosimetry software, coding and simulation/modeling/statistical tools (e.g. 3D-RD-S, MIM, MIRDcalc, OLINDA, Torch, GATE, SIMIND, SAAM II, SimBiology, Python, Matlab)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Radiation Biophysics/Medical Physics to support all aspects of internal dosimetry analysis in discovery and development of radiopharmaceutical imaging and therapeutic agents
  • Work closely with Discovery to design experiments and perform dosimetric data analysis from imaging modalities like PET (positron emission tomography) and SPECT (single-photon emission computed tomography) to assess drug uptake and distribution
  • Identify and advise best practices and standardization processes for image data quality control in preclinical research, aligned with current guidance in literature
  • Analyze preclinical and clinical imaging data to advance the translation of animal-to-human dose projection
  • Explore new technologies and modelling approaches to improve the development of radiopharmaceuticals, such as novel radioisotopes including alpha-emitters
  • Contribute to the advancement of medical physics knowledge in the field of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Provide technical support, training and problem-solving solutions to cross-functional teams as needed
  • Lead translational dosimetry analysis such as physiologically based pharmacokinetics or compartmentalization modelling
  • Provide technical support including dosimetry calculations and work in collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external vendors and experts
