Requirements

Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
Recognized expert capable of managing large projects or processes with considerable latitude in determining deliverables and limited oversight
Ability to contribute to defining direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans with significant impact on work group results
Proficiency in solving difficult, moderately complex, and undefined problems through detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
Skills in developing solutions to moderately complex problems and making moderate to significant improvements to processes, systems, or products independently
Experience representing the organization as a primary contact for projects, communicating with internal/external customers and vendors, negotiating, and influencing decision-making
Capability to provide guidance, coaching, training, delegate work, review work products, and act as a team leader for major/moderately complex projects

Responsibilities

Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment
Conducts quality assurance tests and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
May specialize in areas such as design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality
Formulates, delivers, and/or manages assigned projects; works with stakeholders to achieve desired results
Acts as a mentor to colleagues or directs the work of lower-level professionals
Delivers R&D, systems, or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies from design to implementation, adhering to policies using specialized knowledge and skills
Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level specialists
