Requirements

  • Strong technical acumen and hands-on engineering experience in manufacturing processes
  • Expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods, including development, implementation, coaching, and teaching
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects from concept through production release, including equipment installation, process validation, and monitoring/control
  • Proficiency in developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, implementation plans, charters, status updates, and changes
  • Skills in analyzing workflows, troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues, and root cause problem-solving
  • Experience tracking metrics, discovering areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, reduce scrap/rework
  • Ability to estimate production costs and project savings in collaboration with manufacturing, finance, and operations excellence teams
  • Knowledge of designing control charts, action plans, critical process parameters, and incorporating inspection/test requirements
  • Capability to communicate findings/proposals to upper management and provide thorough instructions for process changes
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, safety, and quality standards
  • Ability to mentor/guide others, lead/review root cause investigations, corrective actions, and contribute to departmental efforts
  • Results-driven, innovative mindset with strong collaboration skills across site leadership, quality, engineering, finance, and operations teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop scope of work, project plans, schedules, budgets, or guidelines for projects
  • Lead project implementation from assessment through procedure production release, including equipment installation and validation activities
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and perform root cause problem-solving associated with manufacturing processes
  • Oversee and assess/analyze existing processes and workflows for optimal SPC implementation
  • Communicate findings and proposals to upper management
  • Coach and teach Statistical Process Control development and implementation on existing processes
  • Track metrics to discover and identify areas for improvement
  • Work with manufacturing, finance, and operations excellence to estimate production costs and project savings
  • Develop SPC implementation project charter, status updates, and changes
  • Provide thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes
  • Review production data and design specifications in partnership with manufacturing and quality to understand critical process parameters
  • Design procedures for control charts and action plans that affect process capability and product performance
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
  • Lead or critically review root cause investigations and support corrective action solutions, planning, and execution to ensure product quality
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations, applicable safety, and quality standards
  • Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards, improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products
  • Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications
