Requirements

Candidates should possess 15+ years of hands-on experience with plastic injection molding, including component design, design optimization, and mold design, along with 5+ years of experience designing and building complex mechanical components and assemblies. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required, and strong knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes is essential.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, prototyping, and volume manufacturing of complex injection molded assemblies and high-precision mechanical components & assemblies, specifying injection molding tooling, identifying and interfacing with key component vendors, conducting design reviews, and providing in-depth analysis and CAD data to guide design decisions. You will also work closely with the scientific team to create verification/validation protocols, manage external vendors for outsourcing injection molding and assembly activities, create comprehensive work instructions and manufacturing SOPs, and demonstrate proof of concept through rapid prototyping.
