Extensive experience with modeling and planning the bulk electric power system
Strong technical skills in long-range load forecasting, testing and planning
Ability to apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes
Recognition as the technical expert both internally and externally
Understanding of the implications of the integrated power system (load, generation, renewables, energy markets, regulated transmission and distribution)
Responsibilities
Serve as a technical specialist in transmission planning, applying advanced theories and concepts
Lead and perform reliability and/or strategic scenario-based planning driven studies
Conduct studies including voltage, thermal, PV, transfer limit, short circuit, electromagnetic transient, and stability assessments
Contribute sound engineering input to develop robust, reliable, and low-cost solutions
Critically review data and assumptions from regional and industry stakeholders
Interface with ISO-New England, area transmission owners, and Eversource departments (UG/OH engineering, Substation Technical, DER, Operations, etc.)
Understand and mitigate electric system needs, challenges, and enable reliable future growth
Document and communicate results and recommendations, including data manipulation, report writing, and presentations
Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop long-range planning criteria
Represent the Company on regional and national transmission committees (NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE) as needed
Prepare documents/testimony and may testify for regulatory requirements and proceedings
