Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum), preferably in Mechanical, Energy, Electrical, Environmental, or related engineering field
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a good driving record and personal vehicle for customer site visits
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally up to 20%
  • Strong proficiency in oral communication, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong planning, coordinating, organization, and self-management skills in a professional environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • On-track or desire to obtain certifications: EIT, C.E.M
  • Interest in sustainability and passion for environmental impact

  • Previous project engineering experience or similar in the energy efficiency industry
  • Understanding of energy savings opportunities for building systems (lighting, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, process heating/cooling, etc.)
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency codes and standards (e.g., IECC, Code of Federal Regulations, ASHRAE 90.1)
  • Experience managing multiple projects/programs, budgets, deliverables, and client relations
  • Master's degree, preferably in Mechanical, Energy, or related engineering field

Responsibilities

  • Support project review of lighting upgrade projects and RCx projects, including desktop engineering review, economic analysis, calculations for energy impacts (using spreadsheets/energy modeling), summarizing implementation details, and explaining operational impacts
  • Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) site visits to establish energy usage patterns, identify savings opportunities, and verify installations; tasks include installing field monitoring equipment/data loggers, collecting BAS trend data, functional performance tests, BAS screenshots/equipment photos, and discussing with customers/contractors
  • Write technical reports summarizing energy assessment results, quantifying project economics (energy/cost savings, project cost, incentives, simple payback, etc.)
  • Communicate, coordinate, and assist project stakeholders (program staff, contractors, utility customers) to maximize utility program benefits
  • Deliver professional, high-quality services and build rapport with utility customers
  • Complete high-quality deliverables demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining budgets and schedules
  • Other duties as assigned
