Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field, and possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in Data Management. Strong knowledge of data engineering principles, tools, and technologies is required, along with experience designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes utilizing modern components such as Spark, Iceberg, Delta Lake, Scala, and Python. Furthermore, experience defining and enforcing data governance policies, including data security controls and privacy regulations, is essential.

Responsibilities

The Principal Engineer will provide strategic direction and technical oversight for a greenfield initiative focused on rebuilding and modernizing the data warehouse infrastructure, offering guidance on data architecture, solution design, and implementation strategies. They will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehouse, and data lake solutions, maintaining data governance policies, defining end-to-end data flows and data lineage, and serving as a liaison between various teams. Additionally, the role involves maintaining data asset inventory, ensuring best practices for data democratization, offering insight into industry trends, and continuously improving team skills.
