Requirements

  • Provide support, direction, and subject matter expertise on electrical & instrumentation issues during startup and normal operations
  • Understand and own all aspects of the site calibration program
  • Be able to discuss the site calibration program with health authorities and regulatory bodies during audits
  • Review current instrument equipment performance to prevent reliability issues and implement reliability monitoring programs
  • Handle equipment selection for new capital projects and re-capitalization projects, including assessing spare parts requirements
  • Focus primarily on instrumentation, calibration, and regulatory aspects of the discipline

Responsibilities

  • Own the site calibration program
  • Own and be responsible for all aspects of instrumentation equipment installed on site (e.g., RCAi, safety/quality deviations, equipment upgrades, obsolescence, project support, MTBF)
  • Work with and liaise with health and regulatory authorities
  • Initiate and roll out new site calibration strategies and directives
  • Provide engineering support to maintenance and equipment owners in area of expertise
  • Ensure maintenance program is appropriate for reliable operation of equipment
  • Provide training to maintenance personnel on new equipment, methods, and techniques
  • Follow up on issues identified by equipment owners or via the preventative maintenance program
  • Participate, raise, investigate, and complete HSE & quality observation/deviations write-ups
  • Ensure local maintenance procedures align with Global Engineering Standards & Best Practices
  • Ensure job plans, data sheets, and data loaders for CMMS are correct and detailed
  • Lead reliability improvements to identify equipment obsolescence in advance for planned replacements
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the maintenance program
  • Analyze predictive and condition-based monitoring data to identify actions and prioritize with equipment owners
  • Lead development and contribute as SME to site specifications
  • Develop, review, and own departmental SOPs
  • Review stores and inventory levels of critical equipment
  • Carry out internal audits and periodic reviews of GMP activities for compliance
