Requirements

  • Ability to build strong relationships between employees and managers
  • Proactive, strategic approach to employee relations, including identifying trends, recommending root cause solutions, and partnering with leadership on execution
  • Experience driving employee relations strategies at site level while maintaining neutrality
  • Expertise in maintaining employee relations function, following established ELR processes, and building manager skill sets
  • Strong skills in advising and coaching leaders, managers, and employees on employee relations issues (e.g., performance management, disciplinary processes, legal issues, investigations, conflict management)
  • Ability to assess and resolve employee relations matters with consistency across client groups and alignment with Medtronic practices
  • Skill, tact, persuasion, judgment, and negotiation skills
  • Close collaboration with in-house legal team, HR Business Partners, and wider HR community
  • On-site presence at Juncos, Puerto Rico facility 5 days per week
  • Experience as an individual contributor delivering and overseeing ER initiatives from design to implementation, adhering to policies and using specialized knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Partner with site-level managers as a key contact for employee relations strategies
  • Provide advice and coaching on all employee relations issues to leaders, managers, and employees
  • Lead performance management, disciplinary processes, legal issues, investigations, and conflict management
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of Medtronic's policies and procedures to promote positive culture and minimize risks
  • Serve as a single point of contact for employee relations issues to ensure clear communication and efficient resolution
  • Work directly with stakeholders to deliver fair, consistent ER services aligned with business needs
  • Identify higher-level employee relations trends and recommend/executes solutions addressing root causes
  • Deliver and oversee ER initiatives from design to implementation
  • Act as a mentor to colleagues or direct work of other professionals
  • Collaborate closely with employees and leaders at the Juncos facility to foster meaningful connections
