Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and understand “Change Spec. Card Procedure” and “Non-Conforming Product Procedure”
  • Less than 1-year experience requires sign-off from experienced operator with over 1 year experience

Responsibilities

  • Get magnets from magnet board containing work order information for production
  • Locate pallet or cart with WOR folder containing corresponding material, work order numbers, and instructions
  • Determine and obtain correct tool for the job from tooling rack, remove from box, attach bearer blocks, and slide into tooling station
  • Set machine for appropriate job
  • Retain supplier raw material tag with lot # and run # information along with “Approved for Use” tags (or record details if using partial material)
  • Complete “Sign-off Check List”
  • Print core tags or box tags, along with 1st piece and last piece labels with correct information
  • Ensure right material is used on proper side of liner and in right orientation
  • Place material in machine, feed through fife guide, and adjust for center run
  • Place adhesive in machine and align with materials
  • Start machine, adjust tension and alignment as needed
  • Pass material through to die cutting station
  • Remove waste or air-injection from tool
  • Adjust nip-roller speed for proper speed and dimensions
  • Verify part to print or mylar, record dimensions, retain first approved piece with label
  • Complete In-Process check sheet during run
  • Complete End-of-Run sign off confirming required parts produced, retain last approved piece with label
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, cleaning floor, machine, and work area at end of job and shift
  • Cut cores for jobs, obtain boxes and materials as needed
  • Operate production equipment to produce good, quality product efficiently
  • Make suggestions to improve production process
  • Work with sales and estimating to test/run samples for new products
  • Ensure product matches spec card and required quality/tolerances, update spec card for future runs if process changed
  • Observe machine for defects or malfunctions, adjust as necessary
  • Change worn machine accessories like cutting tools and brushes using hand tools
  • Perform minor machine maintenance (oiling, cleaning, changing filters, adding lubricant)
  • Notify supervisors when major service required
  • Other duties as assigned
