Requirements

  • Must have 6 months prior experience in meat processing facility
  • Experience in one of the following jobs preferred: Harvest (1st legger, 2nd legger, 1st Butter, 2nd Butter, Low Backer, Head Dropper, gullet raiser, gutter) or Processing (Pull Clod, bone Chuck, Bone Arm, Bone Rib, Pull Tenders, Bone Tops, Seam Rounds)
  • Willing and able to perform physical requirements: standing/walking/bending/stretching/climbing/pushing/pulling/reaching for 8+ hours per shift, continuously lift/push/pull up to 75-80 lbs, use physical force
  • Willing and able to work on moving chain or table, in cold/hot/humid/wet/damp environments (e.g., 35-45°F in processing), on slippery surfaces, and climb stairs/ladders to elevated platforms
  • Willing and able to use knives, hooks, and wear all required PPE
  • Able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States
  • Able to pass urinalysis screening (post-offer health assessment)
  • For previous Tyson employees (effective 01-02-2025): 180 days rehire waiting period and 3 times rehire limit

Responsibilities

  • Perform intermediate operative general labor including heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and maintaining production flow
  • Use knives and hooks in skilled positions
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Wear proper PPE at all times
  • Work in any department of the beef processing facility, including harvest and processing roles such as heavy/detailed knife work
  • Stand at table/elevated platform or work on moving table/chain for 8+ hours
  • Handle physical tasks involving standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting (up to 80 lbs)
