Medical Doctor (MD) - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible Upon Hire
Or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible Upon Hire
Federal Drug Enforcement Admin (DEA) - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin State and federal DEA license based on state of practice Upon Hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work the hours specified, including primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement

Responsibilities

Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice
Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members, contributing to health education of individuals and groups to increase motivation for self-care
Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care
Provides quality care for patients, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices
Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care and provides patient instruction on environment of care and safety standards
Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards
Meets regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration, as well as with personnel to promote quality care, and assures appropriate referrals are made
Maintains patient records and accurate information
Provides and manages direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice (pediatrics)
