Requirements

Medical Doctor (MD) - Board of Medicine licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state of service, board certified or board eligible upon hire
Or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) - Board of Medicine licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state of service, board certified or board eligible upon hire
Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license - State and federal DEA license based on state of practice upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work primarily days with night, weekend, and holiday on-call involvement

Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice
Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members, contributing to individual and group health education to increase motivation for self-care
Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Interpret information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulate appropriate plans of care
Provide quality care, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices
Recognize and react appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care, and provide patient instruction on environment of care and safety standards
Understand, apply, and support practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards
Meet regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration, and with personnel to promote quality care; assure appropriate referrals are made
Maintain patient records and accurate information
