Requirements

Minimum 12 years of experience in Physical Design
15 years full time education
Proficiency in Physical Design (must have skill)
Strong understanding of placement and routing techniques
Experience with clock tree synthesis and timing closure
Familiarity with design rule checking and layout versus schematic verification
Proficient in using EDA tools for physical design tasks (e.g., Cadence Encounter/Synopsys ICC2, ICC2/Innovus)
Experience in Block/SoC Physical Design at 10nm / 7nm / 5nm process nodes
Tapeout sign-off experience using industry standard tools
Experience with SDC, STA, and Equivalence checking
Working knowledge of Unix, Linux, and SKILL, Shell/Python scripting
Flow automation exposure (good to have)
Quick learner with excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

Translate logical circuit designs into a physical layout, optimizing for area, power, and timing
Perform placement, routing, and clock tree synthesis, ensuring design meets timing and manufacturing constraints
Work closely with timing and verification teams to resolve physical design issues before tape-out
Experience in PnR tools like ICC2/Innovus for physical/timing convergence
Collaborate and manage the team to perform tasks
Responsible for team decisions
Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions
Provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams
Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team
Analyze and review design specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards
Expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
