Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing with the appropriate board of pharmacy or application submitted
Detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills
Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
Successful completion of background checks, including criminal and driving records, as well as fingerprint checks
Completion of New Hire Orientation and all training requirements upon employment and annually thereafter
Physical ability to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing for brief periods

Responsibilities

Complete both Basic Technician and Advanced Technician online training modules from Computer Rx
Provide exceptional customer service and address inquiries effectively
Answer phones and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise
Process new prescriptions and refill requests accurately
Prepare prescriptions alongside pharmacists by counting or pouring medications and labeling containers
Maintain pharmacy supplies and ensure the stock is well-organized
Order and check in medications from suppliers efficiently
Prepare insurance claims and verify patient payments diligently
Assist patients in locating over-the-counter medications
Perform housekeeping duties to keep the pharmacy area tidy and welcoming
Make deliveries and accept payments when required
Participate in staff development activities
