Requirements

3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in pharmacy school, applying didactic learning to real-world practice)
Ability to work under the direction of a preceptor and complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
Compliance with state regulations (e.g., for taking telephonic prescriptions, calling prescribers, offering counseling)
Part-time availability in retail pharmacy locations

Responsibilities

Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to support Pharmacists and Technicians in managing and improving patient health
Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and services at register and phone; solve or escalate patient problems compassionately
Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history for optimal care, under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
Maintain high self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices
Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories)
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt/safe/accurate prescription filling, and service exceeding patient expectations
Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and effective communication in all customer/colleague interactions to foster a safe, inclusive culture
