Requirements

3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in pharmacy school, applying didactic learning to real-world practice)
Ability to work under the direction of a preceptor
Compliance with state regulations (e.g., for taking telephonic prescriptions, calling prescribers)
Part-time availability

Responsibilities

Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to support Pharmacists and Technicians in managing and improving patient health
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, phone, register; offer immunizations and services; solve or escalate patient problems
Offer counseling, field medical questions, solicit patient medical history for optimal care, under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
Maintain self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members, sharing best practices
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt, safe, accurate prescription filling, and service exceeding patient expectations
Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and contribute to a safe, inclusive culture in all interactions
Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, waiting bin inventories)
