Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Live CVS purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, following up on performance, and providing feedback to Pharmacy Manager
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach team to do the same
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching team on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
  • Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
  • Remain flexible for scheduling/business needs, contribute to safe/inclusive team dynamic, and write pharmacy schedule if directed
  • Maintain relevant clinical/technical skills and seek opportunities to expand knowledge
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing, prescribing) where permissible; empower team to provide services
