Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, or related field (plus)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) industry
  • Have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Additional relevant technical experience such as working in manufacturing facilities
  • Prior experience working at a DoD facility (plus)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 and up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Ability to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items
  • Ability to go up and down stairs (where applicable)
  • Willingness to work in areas with potentially harmful physical and chemical agents (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, radiation, chemicals) and participate in medical surveillance programs
  • May require pre-employment physical exam

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate a wide range of contract work pertaining to energetic manufacturing facilities and operations (e.g., janitorial, pest control, building system preventative maintenance, grounds, refuse, above ground storage tanks) against performance standards
  • Develop performance criteria to evaluate contractor work performance
  • Perform regular site visits and inspect contractor work for compliance with applicable plans, specifications, and performance criteria
  • Identify problems in contractor performance and provide written recommendations for corrective action
  • Monitor and track corrective action implementation and sustainment
  • Prepare cost estimates related to facility service and operation
  • Oversee facility service and operations contracts in support of energetic manufacturing operations at a federal facility site in Indian Head, Maryland (full-time on-site)
