Associate degree or technical certification in engineering, science, or related field (Basic)
3+ years using ECAD tools for PCB layout, component library management, and generating manufacturing documentation packages (Basic)
Demonstrated proficiency in reading and understanding circuit schematics (Basic)
Demonstrated knowledge of DFMA and DFT best practices (Basic)
Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US (Basic)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field (Preferred)
Experience using Mentor Graphics Expedition/EDM for schematic capture, layout design, and parts management (Preferred)
Ability to design multi-layer PCBs using simulation tools for impedance control of high speed signals (Preferred)
Familiarity with IPC standards (Preferred)
Experience designing PCB layouts for high speed differential signals and memory interfaces (Preferred)
Electronic troubleshooting skills (Preferred)
Experience maintaining PCB part libraries (Preferred)
Responsibilities
Collaborate with members of the engineering, R&D, and production teams to support new product development, continuation engineering, and customs R&D programs, specifically working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers on PCB layouts
Efficiently utilize ECAD tools to layout complex PCBs that include DC/DC power supply design, high-speed digital signals, memory interfaces, and high density BGA packages
Manage and organize electronic component libraries
Assist with schematic capture
Create new component library parts and symbols for PCB designs
Generate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Gerber artwork files, bills of material, circuit board fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings
Ensure compliance with industry standards (IPC)
Properly apply best practices for Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Test (DFT)
Help manage vendors for PCBA procurement, including quote requests, alternative parts selection, etc
