Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, relevant industry experience, or professional payroll designation
6+ years of progressive payroll experience, including cross-border payroll (U.S. and Canada)
Hands-on experience with Rippling (preferred) or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
Demonstrated success in building or optimizing payroll processes and controls in a multi-jurisdictional environment
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Process payroll in Rippling for hourly and salaried employees in the U.S. and Canada, managing biweekly and semi-monthly pay schedules
Serve as the primary subject matter expert on ROEs, 401(k) audits, and employment legislation in Ontario and across Texas, California, and Colorado
Collaborate with the People team to gather and validate payroll inputs, while rebuilding and streamlining current payroll input worksheets for efficiency and accuracy
Oversee and execute year-end filings and compliance processes (W2, T4, T4A, 1099), ensuring accuracy and timely submission
Build and manage the company’s payroll function, including developing processes, internal controls, and reporting standards to support accuracy and compliance
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies while maintaining alignment between payroll, Rippling (the HRIS), and NetSuite (the accounting system)
Rebuild and maintain reconciliations between Rippling and third-party systems for benefits deductions, 401(k), and RRSP contributions, ensuring data integrity and consistency
Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current Rippling payroll setup, verifying that pay codes, benefits deductions, and configurations are properly structured and functioning
