Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with 1-2 years of experience in healthcare administration or a related field. Candidates must have a basic understanding of medical billing claims submission and working with insurance carriers, proficiency in business software like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Availability to work specific PST or EST hours and the ability to manage 60+ inbound calls daily are also necessary. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are a plus.

Responsibilities

The Patient Claims Specialist will serve as the primary contact for patient inquiries regarding balances, claims processing, insurance updates, and payment collections. They will initiate outbound calls to patients to address account or payment issues and update patient account information in the Practice Management system. This role also involves documenting calls and undertaking special projects to support customer-facing activities.
