Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, entering diet information into the computer system, passing meal trays, feeding, and attending to other care needs
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and special needs; ensure patient valuables and personal items are properly handled and accounted for
  • Greet all persons coming to the assigned area, answer inquiries, direct and assist them, take and relay messages, assist with gifts, flowers, and mail for patients, run errands for department staff
  • Ambulate patients and assist them in and out of wheelchairs; measure intakes and outputs; collect specimens and transport patients as needed
  • Answer telephone, operate paging system, attend station, and direct traffic during emergencies
  • Prepare requisitions for diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients as directed; coordinate appointments with respective departments; make outpatient appointments for discharging patients
  • Requisition supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepare related forms
  • Request services such as Chaplain, social services, and pastoral care as directed
  • Perform clerical duties related to admission, discharge, preparing charts and forms, transfer, and death
  • Manage interdepartmental and patient mail
  • Maintain patient rooms in an orderly condition, change bed linens, and provide routine cleaning tasks
