Experienced Certified Dialysis Tech (CCHT certification)
Ability to float to all clinics within the Albany area
Knowledge of FMCNA policies, procedures, training, and compliance with corporation, state, and federal regulations
Ability to function under direct supervision of a licensed nurse

Responsibilities

Assist in patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) and disease process/access
Welcome patients and inquire about well-being
Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation
Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and perform evaluations
Administer Heparin as delegated or allowed by state law
Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments per prescribed orders (including QB, QD, UF goal, treatment time, Na modeling, UF modeling)
Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide interventions as prescribed
Monitor patient response, perform machine safety checks, and report changes or unusual findings to supervisor
Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming
Ensure safety alarms (e.g., NVL 160) are enabled
Document vital signs, treatment parameters, interventions, and evaluations accurately on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and progress notes
Obtain laboratory testing and prepare specimens
Maintain safe, clean environment: clean/disinfect machines, chairs, equipment, and areas between treatments
Conduct preparation tasks for dialysis treatments and document
Support Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), CQI activities, patient satisfaction, and process improvements
