Ability to work full-time with rotating days, Monday-Saturday 4:30am-4:30pm
Compliance with organization policies, procedures, training, and state/federal regulations

Responsibilities

Assist in providing patient-specific education on adequacy measures (e.g., OLC, AMP, UKM) and disease process/access
Welcome patients, inquire about wellbeing, and evaluate vascular access for patency
Perform vascular access cannulation and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law
Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and vascular access evaluations
Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments per prescribed orders, including blood flow (QB), dialysate flow (QD), UF goals, treatment time, and UF modeling
Evaluate intradialytic problems, intervene as prescribed, and monitor patient response to therapy
Ensure safety alarms (e.g., Narrow Venous Limits 160) are enabled
Record accurate vital signs, treatment parameters, and evaluations on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and progress notes with initial identification
Report significant information, changes in patient condition, or unusual findings to registered nurse or supervisor
Perform and document machine safety checks and interventions for unusual patient status
Monitor vascular access during treatment (arterial/venous pressures) and provide interventions as needed
Obtain prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens
Clean blood spills immediately with appropriate disinfectant
Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment
Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
Support Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), CQI activities, patient satisfaction, and process improvements
