Requirements
Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and be certified as a Patient Care Technician (PCT). They must demonstrate a strong understanding of patient safety protocols and possess the ability to accurately record vital signs and treatment data.
Responsibilities
The Patient Care Technician will welcome patients, assess their wellbeing, and evaluate vascular access prior to initiating dialysis treatment. They will be responsible for setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, monitoring patients’ response to therapy, administering medications as directed, and documenting all relevant patient information on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet. Additionally, they will assist in patient education, perform pre and post-treatment evaluations, and report any significant changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
