Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and on-the-job training is provided, requiring no previous dialysis experience. They should be able to perform vascular access cannulation, obtain vital signs, and monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy.
Responsibilities
The Patient Care Technician will welcome patients, inquire about their wellbeing, evaluate vascular access, initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, monitor patients’ response to therapy, and document vital signs and treatment parameters. They will also assist in providing patient education regarding adequacy measures, calculate and enter dialysis machine programming, and ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled, while maintaining a safe and clean working environment and supporting the organization’s commitment to quality enhancement.
