Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have completed a formal training program as a Patient Care Technician, or equivalent certification. They must also demonstrate a minimum of one year of experience in a dialysis setting, along with proficiency in performing vascular access cannulation and monitoring patients during dialysis treatment.
Responsibilities
The Patient Care Technician will welcome patients, inquire about their wellbeing, evaluate vascular access, initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, obtain vital signs, administer medications as directed, and document all relevant patient information accurately and timely. They will also assist in patient education regarding dialysis adequacy measures, respond to intradialytic problems, and ensure patient safety by monitoring alarms and documenting treatment parameters.
