Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have completed a formal training program as a Patient Care Technician, or equivalent certification. They must demonstrate a basic understanding of medical terminology and possess the ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
The Patient Care Technician will assist in providing patient-specific education regarding dialysis adequacy measures, welcome patients, report observations to the nurse supervisor, evaluate vascular access, perform pre-treatment vital signs and weight, administer Heparin as delegated, initiate dialysis treatment, monitor patient response, and discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures. They will also evaluate vascular access, perform cannulation, and report any unusual findings or difficulties to the nurse supervisor.
