Registered Polysomnographer Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) within 1-1/2 years or Respiratory Therapist - Licensing Board within 1-1/2 years
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Complete ASTEP program within the first year

Responsibilities

Follow procedural protocols (e.g., MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen titration) to collect appropriate data
Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality, ensuring artifact-free signals and making adjustments
Document routine observations, sleep stages, clinical events, procedure changes, and significant events for scoring and interpretation
Implement interventions for patient safety and therapeutic needs (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen administration)
Score sleep/wake stages using professionally accepted guidelines
Score clinical events (e.g., respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals) per center-specific protocols
Evaluate sleep study-related equipment and inventory
Perform outreach sleep studies
Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic/therapeutic services, patient care, and education
