Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP); required to complete CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent/prolonged standing, bending, moving equipment up to 200 lbs. (with assistance), lifting solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Work in healthcare facility environment with exposure to infectious diseases, moderate noise, air temperature control; includes desk/computer work, patient/staff interactions
May require travel to training sites or other facilities; ability to provide functions in other locations with same demands
Compliance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations

Responsibilities

Perform all essential functions under direction of Supervisor and with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with other RNs
Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust/modify treatment plan, notify Team Leader/Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with direct/ancillary staff, all aspects of daily safe/effective hemodialysis therapy delivery to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm(s); document justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as resource for healthcare team; participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed/insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes; document/update nursing assessment and plan of care via collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
