The role involves providing and coordinating clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, performing hemodialysis treatments, administering medications, patient education, and participating in quality improvement activities.
The RN works as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, collaborating with direct patient care staff including RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, under the direction of a Supervisor, with guidance from Clinical Educator or Preceptor, and in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
Strong candidates are those who can serve as a resource, leader, coach, mentor, and role model, participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement, and complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance in the Clinical Advancement Program.
