Candidates should possess a current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, along with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent. A minimum of one year of experience as an RN in an outpatient setting, preferably with experience in dialysis or chronic kidney disease, is required. Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills are necessary, as is the ability to administer medications and document patient care accurately.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will be responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care for assigned patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They will perform ongoing data collection and analysis related to hemodialysis treatment, adjust treatment plans as needed, and notify appropriate personnel of patient status changes. The nurse will also administer medications, ensure correct laboratory procedures, initiate emergency response measures, delegate tasks to other staff, and provide patient and family education.
