Responsibilities

  • Plans and prepares drawings for the construction of new overhead or underground links, cables, and conduits to obtain optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities
  • Prepares detailed construction and installation drawings and provides estimates of labor and material costs
  • Designs fiber cable fields, splicing sequences, planning and prepares cost estimates and design loss calculations to accomplish OSP construction projects; delivering FTTH network from source to the point at which Service Operations Technicians can turn up service
  • Maps and drafts utilizing CAD and manual processes & researches and updates International Construction Measurement Standards (ICMS) records, appropriate permits, and ISP designs
  • Manages and tracks OSP work schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines; develops cost studies, performs estimates, reports on project progress, as well budget forecasting, tracking, & reporting
  • Liaises with city officials to manage permitting processes and ensure compliance
  • Liaises with customers regarding land acquisitions for easements
  • Provides real-time direction to colleagues to meet project timelines & contractual obligations
  • Communicates and appropriately escalates contractual, technical, or scheduling requirements that are in jeopardy
