Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with technical skills in RAC, Exadata internals and administration, Goldengate, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard setup and MAA, scripting, automation, performance tuning, and security configuration. A strong understanding of IT service standards like ITIL is required, along with an undergraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Experience interfacing with external customers, excellent communication, self-motivation, attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team are also essential. The role requires working an overnight shift to cover the PST timezone.

Responsibilities

The Oracle Database Consultant will install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases, and perform Oracle administration tasks including managing RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Golden Gate, and Exadata. Responsibilities include performance tuning, WebLogic middleware administration, managing various storage engines, utilizing Oracle customer tools, providing technical support, designing and implementing backup/recovery strategies, setting up Oracle replication, coding scripts, procedures, and functions. The role involves developing monitoring methods, Linux/Unix and Shell scripting, working with external customers, project management, coordinating and administering IT solutions, recommending best practices, administering backup procedures and disaster recovery plans, presenting technical courses, participating in on-call coverage, communicating status and planning activities, and collaborating with remote team members.
